I got mine with the old Remi also. I've been using my 870 wingmaster since around 1980. I use it for just about everything I hunt, just change barrels or chokes and I'm ready to go. I had the full camo paint job done about 3 yrs. ago, along with the cantilever barrel.
Big Fox, don't let'em get to ya ;D Anyone who has hunted a while knows that you can do everything right and come up empty handed. You can also do everything wrong and score, thats why it's called hunting not killing ;)Good luck to everyone.

Hey guys..... My uncle Bobby killed this mammoth of a bird on the farm where I grew up. (If you read the field report, I was getting showed up by other hens in VA. If this was black jack and the options were MD or VA, i just lost a bunch of money) Story goes something like this....called the bird in and he came running. Actually had to yell at the bird to stop him. Once he stopped...well, you guys know the rest of the story. The bird has like 1.25 in spurs and a 11 inch beard. Some hairs actually go over 11 in. I wasn't around until Sunday afternoon...the bird was in a walkin box so it was stiff and I couldn't get any fanned pics. Enjoy!

Take solace wherever you can Big Fox! Was back up to that spot we tried first, same place I called in all those birds on youth day, same area we heard all those birds, and this is the third time since then I've been there and never seen a bird or heard so much as a cluck. Perfect, calm morning, too. And to add insult to injury almost every field I can't hunt had a strutter in it when I drove home.

Congrats. justsand, I live in New Market, 5 min. from you. Just download you photos to photobucket.com and then you can copy and paste them into your message. If you have any problems let me know and I'll be glad to help. It's 3:22am and I'm on my way out to try and score another bird in Charles County, wish me luck. I may try my luck later this week on some of that public in Frederick co. Buckmaster, you and all the guys have a good show, I'm going to try to make it there on Sunday. After hunting today it's on to a "Cinco de Mayo" party ;D, happy "Battle of Puebla day" to all the folks from Mexico, those darn French are always stirring it up.

I didn't shoot these but I called them in for my friend and my son this morning at about 9:15. A Jake and a 9 1/2" beard, We heard them out about 350 yds. and we were runnin & gunnin as they say. We got to within 80 yds and stopped to call and got a response from 2 birds at the same time , set up in about 30 seconds with the decoy and I set up behind the shooters with a glass call. They both popped out of the thicket at about 30 yds. saw the decoy and went into full strut. These guys couldn't have timed their shooting better, both birds hit the ground at the same time. Elapsed time from first Gobble at 350 yds. to shooting ...about 20 minutes. It happened so fast I couldn't believe it. As busco says... I would much rather be lucky than good any day. ;D ;D My friend took this photo with my son Mike and I with their birds.

Way to go, this thread is filling up! Okay, the curse of the Fox is lifted from the Osprey!!!! Took my nieghbor kid out today to that special spot that had never been hunted for turkeys and always has birds on the fields. No gun for me, playing guide today for the boy. We got there at 5:15, carried the gear across the field, got to the tree I wanted to be under and Flap-flap-flap, a bird was roosting in it and took off. Don't know what it was. Set the blind anyway, put out a hen, jake and North Dakota Bob decoys and settled in. Never heard a gobble, not to any call and not on the roost. Gorgeous sunny morning, but never a peep. Sat until 9:20 and finally, out of the woods/CRP edge I see two red heads about 80 yards away, coming toward us in the angry walk. My man Logan got his gun ready and the birds came in fast, straight to the strutting Bob. Attacked him!!! Hit him 2 or 3 times before they separated enough to get off a shot. That boy was wound up!! He missed once, shot again at the bird running off and away, then I told him to just calm down and kill the other one still standing out at 30 yards. Bang - flop!! Solid head hit and barely 2 twitches. ;D An 11 year old boy now has his first turkey, and a big one at that. 22 lbs, 10" beard, 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" spurs. And I've still got just a bit of a smile on my face, too...

You aren't kidding busco, If you look at my posts on this thread you wouldn't think this is my first year on turkeys. No one was more surprised than me when not one but two birds came in on a call that was being operated by me today. These birds accually thought I was a hen! The funny part of the story is that we were sitting at my truck on a water break and I was showing my son how using different strikers on a glass call makes a different sounds and these gobblers answered me!! That's when all 3 of us took off into the woods to head them off. I was just as satisfied calling for these guys and watching them shoot, it was fun just seeing it all happen. ;D ;D
