I've heard 2 gobbles so far. I went out to a local park for lunch & that's where I heard them. Think it was around noon.

Heard a couple last weekend down in VA. They gobbled until about 8:15 or so then went silent. I think they are still warming up although DHextremeCB and I saw quite a few strutting the other day here in MD. I have my fingers crossed to be able to hunt there.
I've yet to check out my parents place in MD. I'm imagining they're a little behind the VA birds I heard last weekend.

I haven't been down to listen much yet, but a neighbor down the road said he's heard 'em already. Was close to western MD tuesday visiting a buddy I hunt with up there in PA, said he's had birds going nuts with gobbles on the ridge above his house every warm morning for the past week.

Good Gobbling God!!!! I went out this morning and heard at least ten different birds. Six were real close, within 300 yds! I never call when I scout so I just mingled around the woods. As I approached a heavily used area, one shock gobbled when I broke a stick! He was so close but just on the other side of dense brush. I figure 50-60yds. I sat down and played it cool. He just kept on gobbling for about half an hour and slowly worked his way out. I never saw him but I could feel his gobble. I wish the season was open!
