All I have been thinking about today is that miniature elk a.k.a. Sika deer. I haven't gotten any work done, but o well. Tomorrow the 8 point sika stag will fall to my Matthews Q2 launching a gold-tip carbon arrow tipped with a muzzy 90 grain FIXED BLADE (only way to go) broadhead.

I agree with the non-hunters being a threat to our rights. But we are our own worst enemy. If we give them no ammunition to use on us they won't have chance of taking our freedoms. Thanks for the bear info. I'll have to start saving money now for next year. Love to see some pictures if you have them. Did you get the hide tanned or anything mounted? I wonder how many thousands a full body mount would be. But it would be awesome in the living room!!!

I sent the only pictures I have to info@buckwildadventures.com, hopefully you can post them for me. They are after I skinned it. I am having a rug made, the taxidermist said it takes about a year from start to finish. The cost all depends on the taxidermist, I've seen it anywhere from $145 to $195 a foot for a rug. I took mine to Martins Taxidermy in Boonsboro, I went to their studio and checked out their work. I was impressed Tim and Christy and with the work they do and the awards they have one. I think the extra $$ will be worth it. Amazing enough a full body mount is not that much more than a rug, relatively speaking. I just bought a new house in Frederick, the rug will look great in the den!

Thats awesome! I'm sure when buckmaster gets back frpm sika deer hunting he'll post em. I think I'm going out in the morning. I'll be looking to take a 21 pointer. Or maybe half that many. All this talk of bears and sika deer, whitetails don't seem as exciting. I'll be pumped up before the sun comes up.
