Hoping to make a trip to assateague in late october probably take a day off work and try my luck.. any body interested havent really thought too much about a date yet..

Thier blackpowder season is normally the week after the normal 3 day October MD hunt, might want to check the dates on that...not sure if it's out yet.

I generally hunt M/T or Tue/Wed then come homefor Th/Fr, early ML. Matter of fact, I've missed 1 year out of the last 12+ I'll be there. May try to squeeze in a bow trip first or second week of Oct, BEFORE the MLS get at them. |

Dave, you still going down? Since they changed the BP regs to primitive style guns for the 13-17th I'm heading down with the flintlock, looking at mid-Monday through Wednesday, already called some buddies down there and reserved their guest room.  Hafta get my beach permits when I get there, hope to get the Scrambler bloody! |

Have only missed a season or two there in the last 15 years or so. ;D Let you know as it gets closer, but should be a few of us. White crew cab Ford,will have the cap on by then (sleep there) Also going to try to get there end of next week. I've got to be over that way "for bidness" Thursday,so since I'm halway there..... ;D |

Well, I ain't there! Something came up.  Going to TRY to get there Monday afternoon, but if not,will be there for Tuesday afternoon. Hadn't hurled a roundball in a while, but still DEAD ON at 75 yds with 90 gr 2F under a PBR! |

Look for the Scrambler, I spent this morning putting on the hard top and doors, servicing engine, lubing, etc to get her ready for the beach!

I'll be in a white crew cab, but most likely I'll be hoofing it.
A buddy is going down there for tomorrow's openor, but not sure what he's taking, but I DOUBT it'll be his rig on 38s!
Will finish all my last minute prep Sunday.Maybe! ;D

Talked to a fella at Blackwater this morning while scouting who was on Assateague Saturday for the hunt, said there were only 41 hunters and only 4 deer killed by the time he left the check station just after dark. Should be plenty of room to roam the first days of this week for primitive BP. Got my flint all set, new rock in it, possibles bag all organized, gear semi-packed so far, CJ8 is set and ready to go. I'll be on the dunes by mid-afternoon Monday at the latest if all goes well. Good luck DaveP, hope to see ya there!

I'm going to finish prepping now,and should be there for the evening hunt tomorrow.
