I briefly talked to them at the Harrisburg show. I know I am going to work some overtime details this summer to fund a short trip. I have never hunted Sika but it looks like that will be a good place to start. I wonder how many guys they can accommodate at one time?

that is good news. i have wanted to get a Sika since i lived here and have never had the chance. this might be a better opportunity to get one than just going and trying to wing it.. Even though that does have success too, Right Deer Hunter? i just really want to get one of those critters and just do not know how to hunt them. i think getting an idea from an outfitter might be the way to go to try and improve my odds..

Deer Hunter has already killed one on public ground, he's not allowed to go guided now!!! Everybody else can book.

yeah he had some inside help with some folks that hunt down there alot. i just went blind into the woods and found a tree int he dark to put a stand, not exactly the way i would have wanted to do it, but i really didn't have the chance to go in and look for a spot when the sun was out. hopefully get to go again this year and have a better chance to scout out a place or go with an outfitter.

I have been to Assateague maybe 15 times and to blackwater about 3 times to hunt sika. No luck taking one yet, but it's such an adventure. I just like the thought of going in on public land and doing your own scouting and taking a deer......hasnt worked for me yet with sikas so maybe a guided hunt wouldnt be so bad! I will still try to go hunt them a few more times on my own first.

I can't afford a guided hunt. Even if they guarenteed success, I think I'll keep trying on my own.

Since I'm not allowed to go guided, I'll stick with you hardcore. We need to take a couple days in a row to get a good feel for what we're doing & where the sika are at.

You guys oughta come down now and spend a day or two scouting, you'd learn a lot. Can't get in Blackwater, but plenty of other public areas to scout. They can get a bit hectic for gun and blackpowder, but you''ll rarely ever see another hunter during bow season.

We tried Taylors Island once two years ago and even though we didn't see a sika we really liked the land (it was late, late season)
What do you think about Taylors for early season Sika bowhunting?

Fellas you want to take a road trip soon, maybe even find a few sheds. maybe we could hook up with good ole Osprey and get some more info on hunting those elusive little deer.

Taylors is pretty good, need a boat to reach the best spots. I've never hunted there much, but I could probably show you guys a few other places. Maybe not my AAAA+ spots, but you know how that goes...
