Their season for sika BP is the 23-28th, anybody heading down? I think a buddy is meeting me and we're going on Wednesday, he's got beach permits on his Cherokee. Haven't hunted the Island much before, but we're going to give it a try.

Have to check my schedule, been busy working weekends lately. That would be awesome though.

I don't see any problem with making it myself, but don't have beach permits. Any of you want to get together & get them so we can go out? ??

Well, my buddy Andy and I hit it yesterday. Went in blind in the dark, picked a spot we thought most would pass by. Each bumped one going into the thickets, then saw whitetails all day (not legal during MZ down there). Not the amount of sign I like to see, but our guess was still the best spot of anywhere we looked later in the day. Heard one bugle at dark, and had a whitey doe at 10 feet.
Coolest part was on the beach, hundreds of porpoises traveling just 70-100 yards off the beach, jumping, working fish, and looked like heading south.

I love it down there. With the beach and sand it feels very exotic. Like your hunting in some foriegn land. Good luck if you go out again. Plans fell thru for me coming down Saturday. I'll get in a morning hunt down here though.
