It's easier for them to find it when it is close to a trail. I have found you don't need much sign other than a trail for it to work. If it is in an area where deer are, they will find it.

Corn could be the answer. also maybe invest in a deer camera. I got one last year for christmas and really helped me this year on my hunting. I own 6 acres of land, and mostly is open hard woods. This year i have had 2nice bucks coming to my corn pile. No bed sites on my property but definetly a crossing between beds and feeding areas. on opening day of shotgun season i set up 125 yards down wind from my corn pile. there was lots of shooting all around me all mourning but no action . Be patient ,at 830 am. a 8point snuck up from behind me but not sneaky enough. bang . It was the second buck i shot in 3 years on my property. So hang in there and good luck.

The colder it gets dont forget south facing hills are great . If you can find a south facing hill with decent cover on your property start there . When cold sets in for more than a few days my favorite spots are south facing hills... Might help increase your sightings

Hey cous. Finally got around to joining this forum. Dad said that the corn around your deerstand has been completly gone. Except for one pile. The corn near the climber is gone as well. A little pile is gone from my stand, and he's going to end up putting hte other climber back further. It looks really good. We're going to share this account.
