Hey there fellow New Yorker! I just joined this site today after a friend passed it along. I moved to Maryland a few years ago from Allegany County NY. Specifically, Cuba NY (South of Buffalo) I live in Salisbury and just killed a huge 14pt on Monday. I am impressed with the deer down here. I am a young hunter with a couple of good experiences but I am always looking for insight and advise. Good Luck.

I put the pic in the Whitetail Talk section under 14 point. Beautiful country in Otsego County. I used to travel through there frequently as I attended SUNY Cobleskill. I lived in Owego for a couple of years where I finished up school in Binghamton. I did a lot of bow hunting up there, killed a lot of deer but never any really big bucks. I purchased a lifetime license prior to giving up my residency and make it back home at least once a year for bow and turkey season. This year I was able to hunt for three days in Owego with the Bow. Too bad it rained every day, but I did see several bucks. No shots though, I was trying something different. I hunted out of a ground blind because of the weather. Every time they came within 30yds, they would not take their eyes off the blind. Lot of fun though! Without a doe tag, I ended up with a four point on opening day of gun. Meat is meat right. Have you had any luck yet?
