Merry Christmas!! Oh wait a minute, Happy Easter? WTF. Guess this proves that whole "global warming" thing wrong. LOL. I got about three inches of snow where I'm at.

Only got a 1/2 inch here, and it's all gone now. But it's cold! Think I'm going to the shack tonight and curl up next to the woodstove - might be the last good fire night until next fall...

Scrounged up enough dry wood for one more fire tonight. Then the heat pump will be running till the warm weather comes back. I have ten to twelve big oaks down on my property from a big storm on thanksgiving. I'll be cutting and splitting that in the next few months.

I hauled in some wood last night as well. Probably the last time until fall. Guess it's time to start splitting some for next year.

Wow cool pics! Looks like you all had a fun hunt. Those pics just got me that much more excited for the opener. Did you call them in? Were they gobbling a lot or a little?

They gobbled alot more than I thought they would, came right off of the roost hammering. I did not do alot of calling. The problem was, the direction they came from, top of the ridge, we stood out like sore thumbs. All white and two camo clumps. Lets just say, my son was a little figity. It was very exciting, alot of gobbleing till about 9:00. I did have a great time. Would have been nicer if I could get one of those longbeards into the decoy's.

Looks like an awesome morning! I remember one opening weekend in western MD waking up to 2" of snow on the tent, always a surprise when turkey hunting!
