Yeah, the whitetails out there are the same sub-species you see on the shows from Saskatchewan, very big bodied deer. You don't want to have to drag a big one very far!! Here's a few mulies...in the second photo you can see one of the ground blinds, Billy makes a bunch out of 5x16' hog panel fence setions, covers them with tarps and leaves them out all year. Gravy for hunting from, they keep the wind and precip off and have nice shoot windows cut in them, and they're 8' long so plenty of room.

Thanks! This guy in the left is one of the better mulies I've gotten cam pics of. They trail the does in and I'll get the does, but rarely the big bucks, even this one barely made the frame. You'll see 5 of them every trip down the ranch road, but they are frustrating to get in front of a trail cam. But I've got a new digital that takes bursts of 3 photos, let 'em try that crap next year!!

Cool Pics. Are you ever out there during the off-season to look for sheds? Looks like the pic of the mulie with one antler has shed one already or maybe a defective rack for the year. Oh and the sparing bucks pic should be in a magazine, really cool!

I always say I'm going out in late March to shed hunt but never get there - off season is ending, work is starting for summer, money is gone, turkey season is coming, etc. I've found some good sheds in the fall while helping guys track deer though, including a nice 6x elk antler, a 5x5 mulie skull, and a big 6x mulie single shed. That buck with one antler was all over, you could count on seeing him every day, bouncing back and forth along a mile of different feed piles. Young deer, either a good 1 1/2 or small 2 1/2, the bad side was a fork about 5" tall, probably an injury effect. Could be an interesting buck this year. The bigger 8 in the sparring pic is the same as in the pic above it. I sat that blind one night and had that buck at 15 yards, dead if I'd have wanted him.
