Yeah, Walmart, Moultrie. Good price and digital. Spent 6 bucks today to get 24 pics developed. (one hour of course who can wait days) Nice 8 pointer on it, worth 6 bucks+film. Although a guy told me today cuddeback not that great. His broke three times. Stay digital.

I build all my own. Have been into it for 5 or so years now. Started out with 35mm but run all digital now. Its actually pretty easy once you get the first one done and it works, lol. A tip for those still using film, take it to walmart and when pics are done, even with one hour, you only have to pay for the ones you want to keep. Does'nt matter if they all turned out nice,if you look through and find 8-10 of the same doe or 6 raccoon pics just pick them out and keep what you like and thats all you pay for. Thats their policy, they will just toss them right in the trash in front of you and instead of paying $6 you pay for only the keepers. My walmart also would only develope my negatives for like $1.32 for 24 pics and then I used my photo scanner to print out what I wanted. Here is a webshots link to some of my pics, there are several albums so browse around. www.webshots.com/user/pocomoke102

Pocomoke those are some great pictures. My favorite is the monster buck skulls locked together. I'd have a heart attack if I found those. I'm most impressed with your testing and construction of your trail cams. The pictures tell the story of how to make them, but have you ever written down instructions? I'd love to read them if you have. I see you choose to use the Olympus D-380 digital camera. I'm curious as to where you got the plastic housing and the motion sensors. On a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult are they to construct? (For an average joe like me) I can see you put alot of time and hard work into making them. I think there BUCK WILD!!! I'll try your wal-mart tip next roll. I have too many raccoon pictures already. Can't wait to see more pics. Happy Hunting!

Hardcorehunter I started out using electrical junction boxes as housing's then went on to cases that the commercial cam sellers use. My 1st sensors were driveway motion lights converted to use dc voltage but now the hot thing are special sensor boards for trail cams. Its actually quite easy to do and depending on which camera you use I would scale it as between 3 and 5 out of 10 but the neat thing is it will be way better then a store bought unit and alot cheaper. Honestly,it is very easy and the olympus takes great pics although the hot new ticket is sony 4 or 6 mp cams.
Reed,I did'nt mean to hijack your thread...

Reed is one of my good friends and very electronically gifted. He would probably be the first one up for such a challange. I honestly think you could sell them. Every thought about it? I might look up the parts and tackle the project after the season when I go a bit stir crazy. But very professional looking cameras, I'd be happy to just make mine work. LOL.

Pocomoke, if you don't mind me asking, about how much does it cost to build one of your trail cams, without the cost of the camera?
