You will really like the Barracuda. I know allot of veteran bowfishermen that swear by it. Try Bowfingers. It will do away with finger pinch. www.prosportsmaninc.com/bowfingers.htm Contact Fred at F&D Archery. Get a blue pair to match the bow. www.fdarchery.com/cgi-bin/cartviewer.cgi?category=005 I love the Bowfingers on my bow. As you see I cut the top one the width of my finger. I hated the way it shot before that. Hopefully I'll get to watch you shoot a few gar or rays with it this summer.

Nice bow brother. The story I heard is you walked in the bow shop to buy half a dozen blazer fletchings and left with an ENTIRE BOWFISHING SET UP. Now thats the way to do it!!

I'm with you there, busco. I've got 2 used bows that would be more than adequate for the beginner, but if I were to sell them, I'd only get a few bucks for them, so they are still sitting at the house. Got them both set up for bowfishing. When I was out on the river this weekend white perch fishing, the gar were coming to the surface quite a bit. I've noticed that they do this out on the river before they make it into the creeks and begin spawning - can't wait.

That looks like it would help, syoung. That barracuda buckmaster got is quite short & I could see it causing your fingers to hurt after a few shots. I have always just used an old compound & release, but I'm sure not many people do that.

now you just need to learn how to hit something.. you have all the right equiptment you just have to hit them now, instead of all the warning shots you give them

I put my draw wieght on my golden eagle down to like forty or fifty. That way its an easy draw and I only use fingers. I like the letoff so I can hold a full draw easily rolling up on the fish. I CAN"T WAIT!!!!

These are a good idea to put on your arrows when you are shooting gar. Gar scales are tough on the line. They will keep you from getting passthroughs.

I taught myself everything, so it has been tons of trial and error. This is the greatest game there is. Once you explore all the possibilities bowfishing has to offer it is amazing. I am in the process of getting the Delmarva Bowfishing Association off the ground. I want to have club shoots in differant parts, so everyone can enjoy new species and new waters.
