We've got goldfish at an undisclosed location where we bowfish too. I've heard of people getting them over 5lbs with a bow.

man all this talk has got me pumped for bow fishing. we need to get out soon and just scout some areas out. since we now know we can shoot a lot of different fish we can go out before the gar and carp are spawning and jsut get some practice in before the "reel" fun starts..

We've got goldfish at an undisclosed location where we bowfish too. I've heard of people getting them over 5lbs with a bow. Koi or goldfish. If they have barbels like a carp they are koi. 9-10lb koi are not hard to come by. True wild goldfish are a heck of a treat!

We've never gotten one. They hang too close to the bottom & are kind of small, at least the one's I've seen. Probably 1-2 pounds. When they're that small & 6-7 feet under, they're pretty hard to hit, at least for me!
If I do get one, I'll post.

Are common carp the only carp on the eastcoast? I have seen four other kinds of carp that only seem to be in the mississippi river. Bighead, black, silver, and grass carp. I think all of them can reach fifty pounds.

We shoot grass carp where we shoot the goldfish. Thruethevitals(BowfishUSA) with a nice common from there. Grass Carp shot 10 minutes later. Reel EZ 36 with a grassy shot right where the other one was shot 2 weeks later.
