With everyone being honest and no bs, how many turkeys have you harvested?? I have taken 4 and shot 3 more that have rolled and took off never to be found. Only reason i started this thread , because season is right around the corner, and i,m already starting to get the ebee jeebees! Also i would like to here some of your best turkey hunting memories!

6 with 6 shots spread over too many years! I'm funny about waiting for the right shot, and passing otherwise. I sometimes let them get too close, and that brings it's own set of problems.
IF I can get my BP double to pattern to my liking, I'll use that this season.

Started turkey hunting for the first time last year. I must say that I got spoiled. My friend Frank has a hot spot at his mother in-law's. He hunted there 4 times and he and his friends came out with 6 birds. My friend James got 1, Frank and I each got one, he got one another time by himself and his two co-workers shot doubles. I was only able to go twice last year! It was an incredible experience and I too am getting the itch to get out!!!! Went to get decoys at basspro and they did not have their spring stock in yet. Only had one brand. Can't wait to hunt this spring. I will be calling my own birds in this time!!

been a few times never had one come in. don't know much about turkey hunting, so i do not know if it was my fault or just bad luck. i will keep trying i guess but losing interest pretty fast never even seeing anything out in the woods. I can hear them gobbling but never a visual on anything. maybe this year will be different, i did see my first sika this year..

Took me a lot of years to kill my first, although I wasn't after them more than a day or two each season those years, but in the last four years I've taken 5 easterns (4 Toms, 1 jake) with shotgun and 3 Merriams Toms with bow. Also guided some kids to first birds on youth days the past few years. Hoping to get back to it with success this spring, I'm praying that the Big Fox jinx on my mojo has worn off since last spring...

Gotta give props to Osprey due to the amount and method in which he has had success in the last five years. Over the past 11 years I have taken 6 Toms and 7 jakes all with shotgun. Called in two for my bro-in-law and one for my dad. Had a few years in the middle with no luck at all.

BIG FOX,
Hang in there man, your day will come! Do you have someone to team up with?? You said you hear them gobbling but they won,t come in?? this season if you get on some birds and ole tom is gobbling, pay attention on how many times he gobbles. a lot of times he,ll be henned up , and only gobble a few times to round up the girls. Now he will be hard to take because he might not be intersted in your calling. I have had this happen to me , what i do in this case is figure out where they are going. I then circle back about a 100 yards and then go about 200 yards down in front of them and try to reset up and call again . I killed one this way about 5 years ago. My nephew hunts with me(buxupinya) and 1 time he didn,t hunt with me because of personal business he had to tend to , i had a hen come in to my decoy. Then she started to call ,so i remained silent. then another hen came in . Then in ten minutes 2 toms cme in , i was getting ready to shoot when i saw 1 more tom behind them about 10 yards behind them . I waited patiently , he started strutting his stuff in front of my decoy and i introduced him to my little friend!! 870 rem. turkey magnum with a # 6 , 3 1/2 shot. He had a 10 1/2 inch beard and wieghed 19 lbs. If my nephew would have been there that day he could have busted his 1 st turkey. So don,t give up , and always give me a shout if you need some pointers! Iam not the best at this game but maybe my expierances can help you out!
