What do you guys think? ? Should we make Buckwild a Nationwide site or just keep it Maryland focused? When we started this site I was glad to have a site on the net that showcased Maryland deer and hunters! It's great to see local people shooting local deer, but over the course of this season we have had many inquires on whether or not we would include other states and not just Maryland. We have been getting into North Dakota Mulies, as well as New Mexico Mulies, Florida Hog hunting, and North Dakota Turkeys. I would like to expand into these other areas but do it in such a way that Maryland would still be #1.

I did vote lets keep it maryland But let me justify!!!! I do like the (even though I may not have met any of you) personal-ness (dont know if i just created that word) to our hunting area.... I know it is just a manmade line to seperate us especially only living 1 mile or so from virginia. I guess i would say let them in (ha ha kind of like racism by state) but would you really be able to stop at pa,va,de,wv... then on the other hand I did not create, have the idea for, was the first member, or have anything to do with this site until the crutchfield buck. so it is definately not up to me..............

Thanks for your input. We truly appreciate it. The Crutchfield buck was a good thing for us. Glad my buddy called me & told me about it. All of the hype has sort of died down now, but we got a few solid members from it & that is more than we could have imagined. Thanks again for your input & we hope to continue hearing from you.

This question I myself wrestle with. The personalness (Sounds good to me Busco) of the site is what makes it interesting. I feel like I have a connection with alot of people on the site I have never met. Like I know them and could hunt with them or knock back a few beers with them. The fact that we all hunt in one state, under the same rules, and still have hundreds of miles between some of us, or less. I like to know where every county is when people post where they are from. Or know of the area they describe they hunt the most. So when your talking about firearm season, the post after you isn't talking about his firearm season doesn't open for another week and his 7mm is ready to reach out a few hundred yards and kill some elk.
On the other hand I like to hear about people killing elk. I like to hear stories like Osprey's about mulies. I think with 49 other states the traffic would be twenty times what it is now. With that amount of people on the site, it could make it more diversified as far as different opinions and hunting styles. I had a guy in VA tell me he liked the site but never sent a pic of his buck in because it was shot in VA. I want everyone who comes here to feel welcome and not excluded. If I went to a site that was for Vermont hunters only, no matter how cool the site or helpful the members were I would never feel like I was a part of it because I don't live in that state. With more members comes more conflict I realize that. But those types of people are in every state, we have been blessed to have as many people on this site who simply love to hunt and talk about hunting, without feeling the need to be pricks. That type of hunter is out there and I'm sure will find there way here, sooner or later. (Hopefully never though)
Sorry that I have been rambling on but I feel like we have a great thing here with MD hunting but wonder what it would be like to have people from other states included.

I enjoy seeing the local deer being taken and everyone on this site has been real cordial to everyone else i dont see bunch of ranting and hateful people on here and i cant tell you how many people have stopped my wife and told her they had seen her buck on here. Its like you never know who you might recognize off of peoples picture on the site and i think that personable part of it is cool.

i too like the personelness (def a made up word guys) ha ha ha of the site but since i know many of the members it is fun to be able to joke around with everyone. I do like seeing trophies from around the country as well. i have family on the west coast and i would like to think that it would be ok to showcase some trophies from other areas but keeping the focus on the good folks of MD......

I've seen a lot of sites that try to include everybody everywhere, but they normally end up too diverse and have to break it down into regional sections, which is where the fun stuff always ends up. I say keep it regional, with a central focus on MD, but keep the forum area for other hunts/trips/different areas as it's always fun to see what everybody else is doing.

I think everybody is right on track. For the most part, the common denominator for this site has been Maryland. The fact that everybody lives within 200 miles of one another keeps the camaraderie strong. Maryland’s border is so jagged though, I would be reluctant to exclude fellow hunters from neighboring states. We would loose a lot of valuable members if we were to snub those in Northern Virginia or the Eastern Shore of VA, or anybody from DE of Southern PA. I guess an Alaska only site would work!!
I’m with hardcore. When I moved from NY, I left behind my hunting network of family and friends. I used to be able to call on that network if I needed help tracking a deer or dragging it out of a steep ravine. I also used to be able to call up guys close to me to see what they were seeing in the woods. I missed helping other guys out too. Until I joined this site a couple of months ago, I was a little bored. Since then, I look forward to logging on after each hunt to see what all you guys are seeing and or getting.
I would like to see a Buckwild get together. A date and time where we cam meet, kick back a few, show pics, tell stories, feast on our kills, and maybe even shoot our bows or whatever for some door prizes. Assateague could even work as a venue during the summer. We could surf fish. I’m not much of a planner, just a thought.

We definitely have some stuff in the works for this summer. I'm thinking a 3D-tournament and grill, some bowfishing and beers, and a BIG Buckwild 2007/2008 season Kickoff party sometime in August.

I'm excited just thinking about it! Buckwild Bash '07. A great for everyone to meet each other. Bring the wife and kids. Kids play with each other and the wives can complain to each other about hunting season, (and also they make great designated drivers). Where going to hammer out some details this weekend and try to come up with places and dates. I'm thinking big field, tents, night time bonfire. It will be a ton of fun!
