How accurate do you guys find bore sighting to be? I had my muzzle loader bore sighted but due to time and resources, I haven't had the chance to actually shoot it to see how accurate it is.

Bore sighting is designed to get you on the paper. Different types of bullets will shoot in different patterns and bore sighting can't take this into consideration. When I get a new gun I generally shoot three different types of bullets of the same weight in three shot groups using a bench rest to find out which one shoots the tightest group and then adjust the scope to hit at center with that load. I'm sure you'll find that allot of guy's are doing different things to sight in their guns. I find that this works best for me. My first muzzleloader, a hawken, would only shoot patch and ball in a tight group. I tried to shoot a sabot out of it and it was all over the place. My newer in-line shoots a sabot allot tighter than a patch and ball. If your just trying to hunt with it this weekend I'd at least shoot it once to see about where the bullets you have are hitting, this isn't something that I would do but I'm fanatical about accuracy.

Problem is, I don't have anywhere to shoot it.

Would not recommend just going out hunting with a BORE sighted gun. that is just not a good idea. you can always go to a public shooting range and buy a couple day pass or if your local to Charles County you can buy a Mrytle Grove permit for like 20$ and it covers you for the year. Rommel was correct. Bore sighting is to get you on paper and that is it, it is not a good way to shoot for accuracy. you still need to site the gun in using the bullets and loads you choose.

Go to google and search "Maryland public gun ranges" I didn't see much for St. Marys Co. so you'll have research it a little. The parts of St. Marys Co. that I've been to were not that populated I'm sure if you ask around you'll come up with something. Maybe try calling around to some of the local gun shops, they might be able to help you find something for future use.
