Its just a button buck (which I didnt know till afterwards) but its the first of the year for me with the bow. I have been hunting 3-5 days a week and can count on two hands how many deer I have seen. Its been a bad year so far so I decided if I ever got a shot on anything with no spots it was going down. What made this kind of cool was the fact I was hunting on the ground with no blind. I set up in a shallow ditch so just my upper body was sticking out. It walked up as soon as i settled down and caught me off guard. It saw me and I was stuck in a chair and couldnt move. Walked up looking at me 10 feet away and never got spooked. It knew something was fishy so it just walked back to 20 yards and watched me for 10 minutes. It decided everything was ok and walked broadside and I had a chance to stand and draw. Took the shot at 25 yards and the slick trick did the job. Broke the shoulder and had a complete pass through both lungs. Deer ran 30 yards and dropped. Blood was all over the place. Looked like somebody painted the woods. It was chest high on trees and brush. The head came out with zero defects so its ready to hunt again. I will touch up the blades and clean it up. Well anyway I finally dropped one this year. I will get pics shortly.

Congrats on the deer. Cool to get one off of the ground with a bow - I've never done that, but on my list!

Awesome. Great job! My first deer ever was from the ground with a bow, he came so close that I could have grabbed him. He saw me and ran off 20yds and then he was done for.

Congrats ProStreet!!! where were you hunting? I just got back from Cali late Monday night, hope to get out tomorrow or Saturday. Thanks guys! I was hunting behind a friends house over by black hills park. There is really no land to hunt. Just a small 1/4 acre patch of woods that I am allowed to be on and beyond it it trickles down into a narrow wood line between 2 fields. Off to the right is alot of grown up junk and I think its a bedding area. There is tons of sign and fresh scrapes but I have only seen 3 deer there so far this year. EDIT: mdbowhntr check out this video. This was taken about 3-4 years ago on those trails in the woods we hunt. I am in the green coat and the red atv is mine. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8249894464476595724
