;D I have been taking my son since he was six. Not just hunting but to be in the outdoors, teaching, watching, listening, spending time together. Well this year i was able to bag my first deer with my son along with me. Honestly it has rejuvenated my love for the outdoors to see the excitment in his face when we spotted the deer and the emotion shown when i shot the deer. It was probably the fourth best moment in my life and something he and i will never forget. To here him congraulate me and thank me for letting him be a part of was great. He didnt care much for the dressing out part but it was his first time so i am sure it will get better as time goes by. I want to thank buckwild for doing this and giving us local guys a chance to sure this with each other.

I would encourage everyone to take any kid hunting at whatever age they feel they are ready. My oldest son started going before he could walk and we tried and tried but I was never able to get a deer with him watching ,don`t worry it didn`t scar him ...see the 15 pt Crab Claw Deer. (but then again I can`t explain the sandals either )My middle son went some but wasn`t really into it so we didn`t make him go. The youngest took to it very quickly. He was probably 6 when at the last minute of light we took a doe. The following year he got a button buck, dhextremecb taped it and it was really funny when he had to wake us up to see the deer. Every year since he has taken multiple deer and is a heck of a wingshot. When he retires from the youth hunter program I may try to do as Osprey does and take another kid hunting .If we don`t make some hunters one day there may be no hunters. We`re all in this thing together.
