Thats right I am breaking out the old CVA Plainsman sidelock tomorrow and shooting my old faithful load of 90 grains of REAL blackpowder and a round ball. Deer 70 yards and under beware because you will have hell to pay!
Probably wont see anything anyway but I sure hope I do!

Good for you i also break out my old flint lock once or twice a year. Lets us know where we came from

I've got some days at Blackwater I have to use the shotgun, and one hunt at home where I'll be walking/jumpshooting the marsh and need the .30-30, but otherwise I'm using the flintlock all rifle and late muzzleloader season. Think I may even sell the in-line .50 I have in the cabinet.  |
