Last night around 5:00 I shot my 1st deer with my bow. I've been bow hunting for 2 years and finally got to take a shot last night. I shot it on my family's property in Westmoreland County in VA. A small 3 pt buck about 8 yards away. The most nerve racking moment of my life!

I guess he was just young & dumb. He looked right up at me and looked back down and kept walking towards me.

Congrats. A first gun kill is always special. But a first bow kill is so much more. Getting so close to put an arrow in the animal. Good Job!

When it's not fun anymore, put the bow down and pick up a camera!!

Bow hunting is the most challenging and by far the best in my opinion! Hopefully you will get more chances this season!!

Good job maybe next time I'll loosen up the rope a little so he can walk a little further away. Oh yeah Mom said it took 1 1/2 years for that deer to eat out of her hand and you had to go and shoot it. She also said thanks for shutting and locking the pen when you took him out of it.
