how big is the tree? how high are the marks and where in maryland? Its big enough I cant get my arms around it. They extend from the ground up over my head and I am 5'11". This was taken in Boyds maryland in montgomery county. I want to say it looks like where a bear has marked his territory.

The head huntsman (he owns one to the top packs of american fox hounds is the states) lives about a mile from where we hunt (ProStreet and I as we've come to find out) . He said there have been reports of bear in that area.

I would put my money on a beaver. I trap alot of them by putting leg hold traps under the shavings. I have seen them gnaw down trees I can't get a climber around. Always looks like that at first. Even caught them a mile from any water.

Here's a very interesting pic from my "stand." I shot in a skeet/trap shoot with my dad and little bro yesterday down in Great Mills. After leaving there around 4:00 p.m. I figured, what the hell, I'd take advantage of the Sunday hunting on private land in St. Mary's. While in somewhat of a rush getting all my gear together, I forgot a very necessary item, it was tough climbing my tree!
