I just heard from a buddy that an 18 year old took a 185 inch 12 point up in cecil county that should pass up the old 183 inch record that is held now. Anyone else heard anything about this?

well if it was only a couple inches bigger it may be close but will probably shrink that much as it dries (Not to be Negative)

Still would have to shrink. Is that the state archery record? (183) Seems beatable! ;D

I heard him say, "Corn" when asked what the deer was eating when he shot it. Was it standing corn or a bait pile. If standing corn, Bravo, if bait pile, big deal. When is Maryland going to make honest men out of its deer hunters? Cant use bait on private property for waterfowl or turkeys, why deer? All aside, great looking deer! I just wouldn't be able to brag so much knowing I killed a record buck in late September over a bait pile on a private farm. Lot to said about states with True free chase and no baiting.

I got to school with pat. He is a great hunter. I got to talk to him about the whole thing. I think the deer was eating "acorns" is what he told me. He worked hard for that buck, no doubt.

If acorns it was, I stand corrected.

nice of his parents to let him hook school. lol I saw the deer at the butcher shop. From what I was told Cabelas is picking up the tap on having it mounted. I live in cecil co and heard the same story. The deer was feeding off a pile of corn when it was shot. Either way, nice deer. Just not my cup of tea either. I think the whole baiting thing should be a thing of the past.
