Been a lot of wood chips flying out in my shop, but there's things other than gun work happening. May be some surprises over the next month but I'll give a hint - I got a wood lathe.

I've always wanted a wood lathe. If I had a job like yours, maybe I would have one.
Excited to see what your making. I have a guess......

Well, first off I turned some handles for some knife blanks I'd picked up at Rendezvous and a few shows... Then I've worked on some horns, using the lathe to turn beehive butts for them and horn bands, from cut up horns turned on a form, and then deer antler tips, to make southern banded style powder horns... And last, in bits of time between a gun I'm working on, have come these. Still experimenting, but getting some good sounds out of a few patterns I've come up with...

Very neat - I thought you were making a bow.
I've made some turkey calls in the past as well - they look a LOT like yours. May just have to make some more.

I may take you up on that Nalley, can always use different woods for something, either calls or powder horn plugs or knife handles.
