Wow, was at the meeting in Salisbury tonight, hardly anybody there. Including me there were FOUR people in attendance. At least twice that many DNR folks there. Weren't even any pretty little anti-hunter girls there to look at...

Sounds like the one in Waldorf last week I think it was around 10 non-DNR people there. No crowds. Got to talk to Doug Hotton without anyone interrupting

I went online & read the comments people have made. Looks like the majority of them have to do with additional Sunday hunting. What were the main points of the new 10-year plan? I couldn't find that anywhere, therefore couldn't add my own 2 cents.

No points or draft plan yet, these meetings were just to gather ideas and suggestions, which is part of why attendance was so low at the meetings. Until there's something to comment on or complain about most people won't bother.
My suggestions were...
1 - crossbows all bow season,
2. Take one or two of the newer public areas, like one of the bigger CFL tracts (several are 1,000-3,500 acres) and do a pilot trophy management program. Would hate to see the whole state go to that, but a few spots would be neat. I have hunted several public tracts in the mid-west that had 4 or 5 points to a side rules and they grew great deer, were fun places to hunt and were a big draw for tourism/NR hunter dollars in areas that otherwise wouldn't have seen much.
