My buddy Mike Muth put the smackdown!! today on a great Wyoming Pronghorn Antelope and man I couldn't be happier for him. I spotted this speed goat at two hundred yards from our truck and me and Mike put an awesome stalk on him and Mike made a great shot a 127 yds off my shoulder and droped him like a ton of bricks. I was very happy to have helped him take his first trophy animal and this Antelope will score very close to making B&C record book. Just a great hunt and way to go Mike. Hunter Attachments:

As for Wyoming...here is the Lope with most hanging on the taxidermist wall when I was picking him up. I'll have to post another photo when I get him his spot on my wall. I framed the tag and bullet we recovered when skinning him. Now to give background, this is what happens when Hunter is saying RUN RUN, I'm diving into cactus (needle still in my thigh to this day) and I forget to lower the power on the scope. I shot first at 80 yards and grazed his back. At that point I think he's gone, but he runs up under this ridge me and hunter were on and comes out the other side with his girlfriend. They see the vehicle and Micah and Blake standing there and stop. Holy crap it's another shot. I get up and move over that way...he's at 127 yards. The gun has a bipod on it, but it's still too low. So hunter says put the gun on my shoulder and shoot. I look through the scope and there is sagebrush in the way. I can see through it enough and make out center mass, so I pulled the trigger. This guy drops right there! Hit the top of both lungs and that was it. Back to skinning this guy. The taxidermist asked me if I shot him with a bow. I told him 30-06, which was the graze through the hair over his shoulders. He also left that graze on the mount on his back.. haha He said that this antelope was shot with what looked like a rage broadhead in his shoulder a year ago and survived. He said you can see the old scar in the hide and asked if we recovered a broadhead. Then he asked if we shot him when it was cold. He said the coat on this antelope was like none he had seen. Come to find out after talking with his buddies out west the animal had his summer and winter coat on transitioning between seasons. It tanned beautifully, but he said tiny summer hairs might fall out. Overall he was highly impressed and wants to put him in the Hunting Expo this summer at the charles county fairgrounds. He didn't even have to putty the base of the antlers because of the hairline, so I can get him B&C scored. He also told me you could see he was in a few fights by some scaring on his coat and a knick in his right antler. I guess this guy was the king of his hill... until I showed up! ;D Attachments:

What a great mount and truly a stud antelope. Definitely a hunt I will never forget and if Gungnir wasn't the size of a Hobbit he wouldn't have needed to shoot of my shoulder, lol.
