My wife told me this morning what my 2 1/2 yr old daughter told her and her grandparents yesterday.
They were at the marina working on granddad's boat and my wife told my daughter that there was deer out in the field and they should go see them. My daughter sees the deer and turns and tells my wife in her limited vocabulary... "my daddy shoot those deer...daddy shoots them...I eat them all..." lol! My wife said she didn't know what to say. I just smiled and said that's one that'll be in the stand when she gets older.
Then this morning during breakfast my wife showed her two squirrels in the backyard and asked her what they were doing.....again she looked at my wife and said "we eat them"... haha !
I have no idea where she got it from, since being two and at my wife's request, I've kept any game cleaning, guns, etc out of sight until she is old enough. She knows I hunt and has seen me getting ready.... but I was cracking up. She thinks the animals are cute... but I guess she also sees steak and bbq sauce on her plate. ;D

Oh man, don't hide the game cleaning and stuff from her, little kids think that's cool as all get out. It's not until they get older that they get squeamish, better to show it to them as early as possible. A 2 1/2 year old that thinks everything is food - you sure she isn't related to Big Fox?!

Haha Osprey... but she is cute and I would be honored to share a deer stand or squirrel hunt with her and her dorky midget daddy.
