One of the quietest opening days in years. I had only seen a few does in the early morning. One of the hunters that I hunt with on the farm text-ed me that they were not seeing anything and how quiet it was. I had responded that it was way too quiet and then I had movement off to my left. I could only catch those white flags that you usually don't like to see, unless nothing else is going on, lol. I hit the grunt call a few times then my bleat hoping something would come to investigate. Then here they come, first one doe then bigger doe and then to my surprise I see horns. Head down running these two does right in front of me at about 40 or 50 yards. He was a shooter at one glance no doubt. So I picked my window and when he came threw BANG. He didn't go 20 yards and piled up. BBD baby. ;D Attachments:

Congrats on the BUCK! I think DNR made a mistake when they said the deer population was up from last year! You guys been hearing anything on that?
