Time to get in the woods guys, it's breaing loose! Starting to see better bucks up after daylight moving around. Had a buddy with me last night filming, trying to get a muzzleloader kill for his TV show, all he saw were bucks running around scraping and searching for does. Figures, he was 200 yards from me, I had my bow and didn't see crap. The end of the week when this cold front comes in the woods are going to explode!

It's just the first part of the chase phase! It won't get real good for about 2-3 weeks.

From what I have seen the bucks are in the seeking phase of the rut, checking scrapes and making rubs and looking for concentrations of doe's. No doubt by middle of next week they will start the chasing phase and get after the first doe's going into estrous.

So either way, what y'all are saying is, I need to put on the squirrel suit and let my wife know i'll be in the stand for the next 3 weeks straight.... awesome!
Although I don't think it's gonna work on our anniversary next week. ;-)

I should probably feel guilty that I don't go back to work until April, but I don't...

Osprey, I love it! I wish that teachers could work through the summer and take October-December off! I hate summers off!
