I have failed as a mentor. The boy I've been taking hunting for the past six years is now 15 and has told me he's going to the homecoming dance Saturday instead of coming black powder deer hunting with me. Where oh where did I go wrong? Try all these years to teach the boy right and he still succumbs to the skirts.

He would at least have time to go out in the morning, wouldn't he?

That is too bad, he will soon enough learn the value of time in the woods when he has to go there to HIDE and GET AWAY from those mean a$$ skirts.. Or is that just my marriage?

HAHAHA!!! He'll learn soon enough and relish the value of time in the woods. but ya can't blame him.. at 15 he's like a buck in the rut.
wait till he wakes up 20 years from now....he'll be investing heavily in stands, blinds and trail cams. LOL! ;-)
Course osprey you could convince him to bring the date along and see how that goes.... :-o

NO, I don't think we'll have any of that! I did, however, volunteer to chaperone the dance for him. Kid's smart enough not to let that happen though!!

Holy *hit, I'd pay to see you out there at that dance. You going to bring your ear plugs. I remember the days when I used to get more squirrel than an oak tree, nowadays I just hope to get out and see some oaks.

Heck Bart, from what I've seen of you this year you can't remember what a forest looks like! Saw a pic of the boy and his date, I think maybe he didn't make a bad choice after all.
