I have been to my lease several times. we are extrememly lucky that the bugs are not to bad there. Lots of deer and they are really hitting the feeders well. Really looking forward to the opening day of bow season.

Flies won't get any worse than they are now. Skeeters, on the other hand, should get much worse. Been dry, so we don't have many, but rain and tide conditions can change fast. Typically the skeeters are bad again by late Sept/early Oct due to fall tidal flooding, but you just never know this far out.

Sounds good I can put up with what I've run into so far.If I was at the beach would already have lost 10lbs. of blood.Fishing Bay is a great place but hard on the body.Fun but a lot of marsh to scout.

Uh oh, here it comes. If we get Irene this weekend like they're saying we could, bugs could go from rare to exceptional real fast. 5-6 inches of rain and tidal flooding would make early sika season tough. Even worse, temps are getting cooler, which means the bugs live longer and would probably last until frost. Hope the hurricane goes the other way!!

IF Irene hits us bad skeeters will be the least of your problems down here. Back when Isabel hit it was a year before the sikas got back to normal and in their normal haunts after all the flooding! After that one was when we really started seeing them up north by Hurlock and Caroline County and over into Wicomico, some moved and never came back.
