Yea, the bucks are bunched up. I hunted my feeder stand today from 1:30 pm to 5:45pm. What a beautiful day to sit in a stand. I saw nothing but squirrels and doves and woodpeckers until about 5:25pm and then all of a sudden I hear them coming to me. There were no less than 8 bucks, I stopped counting them because a nice 10 point got to within 30 yds, of me and I wanted to get a shot at him. The big 10 point stopped at about 30 yds. out in the holly trees and was checking everything out, so I started to check all the other bucks for antler sizes. A smaller 8 point, a small 6 and couple of 4's and some spikes. I didn't get an exact number of bucks because I wasn't believing what I was seeing in front of me. The one I was after was still looking around. There was still too much daylight for him I guess because he decided to turn left and walk further away from me. I still didn't have any kind of shot at him because of all the holly trees, he stayed in the thicker stuff. So when he decided to walk further away, so did all the rest of his friends. They all just followed him to the east side of me which was more open woods but now they were all out of range. I just stood there and watched as they all walked further and further out of range. They finally all disappeared over the hill into a creek bottom. After waiting about 10 minutes I decided that this was the way I wanted to end my bow season because I have never seen that many bucks together in a hunting situation since I started deer hunting 35 years ago. So with some daylight still left I packed up my gear and headed for the truck. Although I didn't get the shot, I feel like a lucky man to have seen what I saw on such a beautiful January day.
