It is wonderful that this hunting season has been good to all of the hard woking and hard hunting Charles Co deer hunters .The pictures are just amazing they look like something out of the pages of North American Whitetail.Actually I like them better since I know a little about the hunters involved.But....do yourself a favor and take many good pictures .Leave the tongues and the pickup truck bed pictures for someone else. The Crutchfield and dhextremecb pics are two that really look like they belong in a national magazine. You never know when that deer of a lifetime will come (I`m still waiting for mine) .....speech over

i am definately guilty of the tongue out tailgate photos, but after slowing down and looking at these two examples like you say definately a lot more attractive deer more like a trophy not a death book. picture getting a deer mounted sprawled out on the living room floor with its tongue handing out. not exactly how you want your deer posed for viewing...... not a sermon just a tought

Hey guys! Appreciate the Sermon.... thought.... opinion. I killed what I believed to be a trophy this year and it is the third year that I have been hunting. Didn't know that there was a do's and don'ts of taking a picture of a dead deer but I suggest strongly that you do not find the picture of my deer! I was so excited that I didn't think to take the arrow out! Just wanted to give you the warning!

I agree.... the ones without the tounges do look better, but a pic is a pic - the animals are still dead either way, causing offense to some regardless, myself not being included.

Just remember this is hunting not modeling, last thing anyone that just shot a trophy is thinking about is the tongue of the deer being exposed ,the thing I enjoy seeing in the photos are the smiles on the face of the hunter sometimes they are just as wide as the rack!!!

Thanks for quoting my pics as an example. I know in my case, I did shove the tongue back inside the mouth. Just because I wanted to show the deer to everyone and the non-hunters still appreciate a beautiful deer without the blood and tongues everywhere. It does make for a "professional" look. And one thing.......you can never take too many pictures.

professional look?when did this become some glam magazine?i will take pictures in the bed of a pickup everytime, because that is part of my hunting gear.anyone who is getting disturbed at the sight of a tongue or some blood should probably not be hunting.i am not looking to hurt anyones feelings here, but this is my opnion.the blood, tongues and guts are a part of the lifestyle we hunters lead.i for one will never be embarrased by the so called "ugly parts" of my pics or anybody elses.please keep sending in the pics whether "professional" or not.

Im with knuckle, I have killed many deer and a throphy this year. His tongue was out in some and even had a Coors Light can in some pics. I needed something to drink after that long haul out of the woods, you know something to calm the nevrs.
