Wow. Great antlers on that big boy. Action slowed up for a while but the bucks seem to be moving a bit more during shooting hours. Congrats!

Hey everyone. I'm roomates with the guy who shot this deer. Anybody have a guess on how old this deer might be? We were debating 2.5 or 3.5 years of age? Some folks thought it was only 2.5 while the local taxidermist who is mounting it is leaning towards 3.5 /4. I'm thinking it's at least 3.5 based on the mass and character although others pointed out it could be just good genes. "Bowbender" felt the teeth and said they weren't sharp but not necessary worn too bad either. Anyway, it's definitely a big deer and the pictures only do it have the justice. Congrats again Ceeb!!

Great Deer! I would have the Taxidermist give you the jaw if he doesnt know how to age it, then just take it to a DNR office. There are usually biologists around that could age it in two seconds.

Me too. I get real ancy by about 10:30 and 11 :30 is my limit. I guess the smart bucks know that. I saw a monster this year in Nov. when setting fox traps. Chasing a doe with another small buck at 1:00 in the afternoon. I need to work on my patience a little.

Funny thing. The last couple years my wife has been seeing some BIG bucks out in the open, midday around here. She usually hunts most of the day,and since then, has made it a point to be in a stand from 11:00 to 2:00 in the latter part of the season. But usually, they're out in the open,NOT in the woods!
