Hunted all day Saturday in the marsh and didn't see a thing. First time I've never at least seen one in the distance. Usually on my hour ride in the morning I'm dodging Sika and whitetail the whole time. This time I didn't see a single deer while driving. I was thinking maybe the deer just weren't moving much. Anyone else notice the same? I'm going Monday so hopefully my luck will change.
On a side note I heard some shooting in the afternoon and most people shot no less than 4 times. One guy shot 11 times within a minute. Might of been a couple people but it was one caliber in the same exact direction.

Still plenty of moonlight, and I've never seen sika like windy days. Either nasty weather or calm, bluebird days are best for sika from what I've experienced over the years.

Good point. There was a lot of moon and it was blowing. Monday looks calm and cold with less moon. Fingers crossed.

Thought my tree was going to blow over but I got a spike 15 minutes before dark. He came charging in and completely disappeared in a patch of grass right in front of me. Couple minutes later he came trotting out. Took a moving 30 yard shot with the 243. I'll post pics when I get to my computer. That was the last hunt for me for the year. Glad I switched up stands last minute.
