Haven't posted any pics of projects lately, but been working on a Bedford longrifle for an old friend. Done this one completely from a square blank, hand inletting the barrel and drilling the ramrod hole, shaping everything by hand. Long way into it now, played with some engraving this morning. Still a bit to do to finish detail work on this cheekpiece, but pleased with how it's coming along, engraving is always the hardest thing for me...

Got 'er done. Should be going off to it's new owner in a week or two, this is for an old friend and college roommate who lives up on the Bedford County, PA line for a hunting gun. This is the first one I've done all the way from a plank, hand inletting the barrel, ramrod, profiling the stock, etc. Whew, that's a lot of work! Full sterling silver inlays on this one, too, all custom made from sheet silver. .54, 40" long, 7/8" wide barrel, just sighted it in off the bench, 1.5" groupd at 75 yards with open sights and 80 grains of FFF. ;D This gun and it's owner should be joining me in Iown next fall and maybe Colorado for elk in the next year or two as well. ;D ;D
