Been awfully quiet around here, guess everybody is out tending their gardens? ;D
How's it look this summer fellas? I picked the first armfuls of zuchinni today, beed getting a few blackberries and raspberries for the past week. Going to have a load of tomatoes soon! Very dry, but keeping enough water on things to look good still.
And how 'bout pumpkins, who's growing bigguns this year?

Cucumbers are all I've picked so far. Deer ate so many pumpkin plants last year it has me discouraged from planting any....

Thankfully they haven't gotten a taste for pumpkin here yet, although it helps the pumpkin patch is only 40 yards from the house. I have seen them standing by the plants in the evening, but they seem to only be hitting the clover around the garden edges...

Got a ton of tomatoes coming and I have already picked some squash, cucumbers and zucc. My corn keeps getting blown sideways from all the storms coming through. Got one last night that blew my pepper plants completely sideways to where they are laying on the ground. Should I buy some support steaks and lift them up or will they do it on their own? First garden so I don't want to kill all my plants by messing with them!

Stake 'em or support 'em. I use tomato cages on my pepper plants.

Congrats! THat's a huge jump in size. I didn't plant any - deer destroyed every plant last year. Any pic's?

The dog is just over sixty pounds, so that gives you an idea of the size. I was guessing 70, but it must have thick walls inside to reach 102. Tried a lot of new tricks this year - spent much of the blizzard online reading the giant pumpkin forums! ;D
