i heard also about the buck that was killed on the eastern shore as well!!!!!!!!! dont know if it is true or not!!!!!!!!!!!!they say 40 scorable pts? ?? This is JUST THAT a rumor! I believe that this buck is the Amish Buck from Ohio! Come on think about it have you seen any media coverage of this so call 44 pointer shot on the eastern shore! No, this is because it's just a rumor. It would be on the DNR's Website or in the Sun Paper. I had a buddy of mine tell me that he saw a pic of a 26 pointer posted at a convenient store and bragging that this buck was shot in that area (N. Baltimore Co and the PA line). Then he started to describe the picture. I told him that it was crap and someone was trying to take credit for Bill Crutchfield's Buck! It turned out to be the picture of The Crutchfield Buck! I don't know about you but this S--- pissed me off! How can any hunter try and take credit for someone else's buck or deer for that matter. I could never even imagine taking credit for something that I did not shoot.

It's ashamed that some people act the way they do these days ,my hats off to Bill Cructhfield. Its pretty cool that this beast was taken in southern md.The reason he probably has not given details is because he is still in shock !!!!!!!!

This is an awesome buck! He dressed out at 150 lbs, I was told, but alot of that must have been horn.
Deer like this are few and far between, but they are out there. This guy, Crutchfield, sounds like he did some homework and patterned this buck after cam pics from last year. If you put in the time, diligently study your quarry and its habits and then have some luck, good deer are to be had in many places. The problem is that people from all over the country are going to see this beast and think that they can just come in to Charles County with lots of money and get the same buck. I hope we can all keep our little corner of paradise to ourselves.

A nice picture appears in Feb 2007 Field & Stream it shows our "hometown deer" along with 2 other monsters. Although it may draw unwanted attention to our area it is kind of neat to see Charles County listed as the location of the kill.

I'm with BIG FOX on that one.....had my trail cam captured that photo, i would definently be living in my stand until he was taken........I don't even know what I'd do if I saw something like that in the woods. That truely is an amazing animal. That makes you really appreciate what the man above has put out there for all of us to enjoy. CONGRATS BILL!!!!!

I saw the article in field and stream also. That buck put MD on the map as a state that has the potential to produce world class bucks. As I have have seen from many of the pics sent in to the site by other MD hunters as well. AWESOME!!

Non-typical, right?? Otherwise that would be the new world record.
