I remember that one. I took the whole deer home after puting the finishing touches on it. It was a pretty nice 8 pointer & it messed the car in front of us pretty bad. The law men wrote us a tag, we threw it in my truck & were on our way home.

I have been told that the fine for taking antlers or the head of a deer is $350.00. I can only guess that the idea is to prevent poachers from claiming that their ill gotten racks were all road kills. I do know it is not legal to scavange the antlers. Also it is not legal to sell them. I once had quite a collection of sheds and a fellow who made craft items from them asked to buy some. I called the local NRP officer and he said nope, not legal. I could make the craft items myself and sell them but I could not sell my antlers to the craftsman. Enough technical mumbo jumbo in Maryland criminal code to make your head spin.
