finally got my second bird of the year on thursday morning around 900 right after the rain stopped i noticed some hens in the field. me and my buddy brian stalked up to the field and gave some calls he hammered off. i kept on calling giving a couple of puyts and purrs and he kept getting closer. the gobbler was still around 200 yards away and some hens came in adn didnt like something and started putting, they just knew something wasnt right i thought the hunt was over. i tried to mimic the noise the hens were making and he kept gobbling. the hens moved off and the big bird kept getting closer. finally i saw him and he was on the way in. he saw the decoys and immediately went into a strut he would strut and walk alittle over and over. then he got to the edge of the opening and his head went up and was looking to hard at something i knew i had to take him but he was still around 45 -50 yards. i shot and he went down like a ton of bricks the spot i shot him at looked like a deer had been shot there. and the best part was brian did an awesome job with the camera. its all on tape

what do you mean you finally got your 2nd bird of the year. Sounds like somebody might be a little spoiled. A lot of people don,t even get one a season , sometimes a year or two. Much less congrats on your # 2.
