???What is the latest anyone has shot a tom in the season ? I once had a tom gobbling on the last day of the season , but i spooked him trying to sneak in a little closer because he wouldn,t come down this hill. I,ve killed all my turkeys in the 1st 2 weeks of the season. Does anyone have some late season tactics i could try to get rid of this jinx i have??? ;D

Went out early this morning, got wet, stayed out untill 11:00, Got really wet, never saw or heard a bird, left the woods , sun came out. I went home rejected and very wet. Gonna give it another shot mid week or so. Good to hear some of the folks are having some good luck.
Oh by the way, it's not a good idea to stay out at the Port Tobacco Marina Tiki Bar on kareoke night until 12:30 am when you have to get up at 4:30 am to hunt turkeys, especially when your 49 years old...but it sure was a good time!

I bet you were hurting pup. I went out and got soaked myself . I never heard a gobble. I did see 2 hens in the field about 8:00 am. It was a crappy day to hunt.

I got a wet arse Friday and Saturday, no birds to show for it. Been working some birds on public, but they're cagey Toms that like to mess with me. Watched them fly off the roost 200 yards out into a private field I can't hunt and stay there all morning, twice.

Went out this morning & had a bearded hen come within about 40 yards, but no shot. To make matters worse I got hung up in a soggy field on my way out & heard my first gobbles of the morning - 6 or 7 of them.

They sure weren't gobbling in VA on Saturday. I'm beginning to think I messed up my opportunity to get a bird this year...

roosted a bird sunday evening and went after him yesterday he gobbled a couple times off the roost then nothing. we left the field and walked and called. after about five minutes of calling looked back in the field where we just were and saw the turkey standing in the spot we were just at. made some more call sto him but he was too far away then out of the corner o the field came three jakes but they saw us as soon as we saw them. went to the corner where they were just standing and hit the call and one went off. 5 minutes later a 23 pound 11 1-2 beard 1 1-2 spurred turkey was down it was my buddies dad first turkey and we got it on tape.
