DNR Proposes Hunting And Trapping Season Dates And Regulation Changes
Three Public Comment Meetings Scheduled in March

ANNAPOLIS, MD - The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold three public meetings to solicit comments on proposed hunting and trapping regulations for resident game species and selected migratory game birds for both the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 hunting license year. DNR’s Wildlife and Heritage Service adopts hunting and trapping regulations for resident game species and certain migratory birds on a biennial schedule.
“We look forward to discussing our proposals with hunters, trappers and other citizens interested in Maryland’s wildlife resources,” said Wildlife and Heritage Service Director Paul A. Peditto. “We have been working on these proposals with a variety of our stakeholders since early February in an effort to keep our regulation changes relevant to the needs and activities of Maryland’s citizens and visitors.”
Citizens are encouraged to comment on the proposed regulations via the internet, postal mail, telephone, or fax until 4 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008. Written comments should be sent to Paul A. Peditto, Director, DNR Wildlife and Heritage Service, Tawes State Office Building E-1, Annapolis, MD, 21401, faxed to 410-260-8596 or emailed to customerservice@dnr.state.md.us.
