Hey guys, i,ve always wanted to go boar hunting! Has anyone done this before ?? If so where is a reasonable priced place to hunt these? I once checked on a place in north carolina but the man told me no beer onsite. Well thats fine because of insurance reasons , but when i told him i will have some drinks with my dinner off the property he said you still will be kicked off! I know alcohol and hunting , don,t mix, but if i,m on a hunting vacation, i would like to be able to have a few beers after hunting! does such a place exist?? Maybe i,m selfish!

Hey Bucks I went Russian Boar hunting and had a blast it was the most fun I have ever had hunting you have to do it at least once. We went to Tioga but I wouldnt use them again I am looking at Bostic Plantation for our next Boar hunt. Just look up boar hunting on the web and youll be suprised how many you find. Any way good luck I know you will enjoy it.

Tioga is a right small fenced hunt. Bostic has slick ads, nice promos, etc, but I've heard mixed things about them. A few years ago, there was a guy picketing their booths at the Harrisburg show. I also called someone who had sucessfully hunted there, to ask him about his experience, and he wouldn't recommend them! Hard to find a good place, with free ranging hogs. Lots of places in NC and Tenn are stocked with hogs live trapeed in TX. Highest pops are Florida and Texas.TX is covered with them this year with all the rainfall last spring.Population is estimated to have doubled! Oklahoma coming on strong. Me and my younger brother found ourselves with a couple days to kill around Okeechobee a few years back. Killed these two using dogs. Pretty damned exciting there for a few seconds.I used a borrowed rifle, my brother used his knife (dogs had a GOOD hold on his sow) Fine eating too! I'm looking to go again. Had a friend from Florida up over the holidays and we're working on a plan. Plan involves his bass boat and handguns! But his "plans" usually wind up meaning TROUBLE! ;D

No he splits his time between AA co and Denton. But he gets alot of that wherever he goes. Must be a generic look!
Dogs had his pig stretched out. A dog on either ear,and one on it's tail, all happening in tall grass. Pig had grabbed a young cur pup, that had got chewed on bad the night before: guy whose dogs they were waded right in to rescue his pup. Once he flipped it, my brother jumped on and stuck it.
With dogs, it's going to be CLOSE! I think busco on here used to run dogs.Maybe he can join in.
I will say they were the GAMEST dogs I've ever had the pleasure to hunt with. They were all scarred up, sewed up with fishing line, ears all tore to pieces, but tails wagging the whole while. They were loving it!

Look like shortnecked sika to me! Wait a few years and it will be good in Ohio. We've been seeing more each year out there - I saw two this fall on state lands - and they have an open, year long season. Won't take 'em long to get high populations.
