Those are some NICE animals! I practiced enough before I headed out to realize I have no business shooting at those distances. Lots of folks can and do, but unfortunately, I ain't one of them! Congrats to both!

They taste like more! ;D A buddy lived in Colorado for 28 years, until he retired and came back here. Told me he got to where he would only hunt them in irragated alfalfa fields: couldn't stand the taste/smell of sage in them otherwise. I scored a freebie a few years back from a buddy whose wife wouldn't eat it. Was a bit strong, so I marinated the hell out of it and tossed it on the grill. Was fine. My buck STANK. So did the meat after I boned it all out and packed it in ice. I was worried because I caped it out, and had that in the same cooler:thought maybe that was the stank. But after 5 days in ice, smell seemed to have left. Meat tastes fine.

Nice nalley! I caped mine and it's also in the freezer, waiting its turn (with a WHOLE lot of other stuff!) I may need to pick your brain when I get to it.

Nice mount, do you do it professionly or as a hobby? Right now as a hobby but I'm gonna mount the buck I killed this year and take it to go get my license. I plan on doing that after the first of the year. If anyone wants to learn or has questions I'm more than willing to share what little I know.
