I have recently got a few furs tanned by this company. The product I recieved I have been completely satisfied with. However since I have recomended this company to others I feel it my responsibility to share with you my latest experience with them.
After recieveing my furs a few weeks later than promised, I still was waiting on a deer hide. I called once asking its status and they had no answer for me and said they would call me back. Five days later, after no call back, I called again. I got the same response. Waited another week or so with no call back and called again today. This time the owner of the company answered the phone. After searching his computer he said "well its gone". After i confirmed it was "lost", he said he could give me someone elses hide in its place. I told him if I wanted someone elses hide, I would go to ebay and buy it, I want the hide that I sent.
To make a long story short, he said "it happens sometimes" in a very "oh well" attitude. He said he wouldn't charge me for the hide that was lost. That is all he could do to right the wrong. I laughed and said if he charged me for the hide they lost, then we'd have real problems. I told him next day shipping of a frozen 25 pound hide is expensive. I told him if I owned the company and lost a hide I would offer to tan another one for free or half price. He obviously doesn't need my buisness because he wasn't about to make that offer.
The fact that he lost the hide I understand. But that hide could have been my or one of my children's first deer ever. And his attitude was the value of a untanned hide is only $5, get over it, it happens all the time. To him its a hide to me its a trophy. If a taxidermest lost your deer head and offered you someone else's he probably get punched. I have an otter pelt I want tanned and I'll be looking for a different company. Sorry about the complaing I just felt like I was wronged by the company and there "satisfaction guaranteed!" is a joke. The work they did on the other hides was very good, but I just wanted to warn anyone else to use them at your own risk.
