same for me seen it on tv but havent tried yet i have noticed that i think 10ft and under is 1/2 the price of over 10 ft from the outfitters. I think i could deal with about 9ft that is huge i think

I have a four foot caimen and had a five footer in the past. They were too small to be afraid of. Mean, yes and strong, yes, but easily handable(when taped up) Nine is a good size but a "trophy" is a 12 footer+. A nine footer might bite off a finger, a 10-11 footer the hand. BUT A TWELVE FOOTER IS TAKING THE WHOLE ARM!!! I'd be happy with a nine if its that much cheaper though. If you apply for your own tag and go with an outfitter its a ton cheaper than buying a tag directly from the outfitter.

PSSST!!!
Check out Georgia.
Cheaper, I plan on a DIY hunt.
And since they give bonus points,I'm already up on y'all!
(gotta love the instructions on their website.Kill it,then kill it some more. Then tape it's mouth shut. Then kill it again, beofre you haul it in the boat ;D)

Dave when are you planning on going? What are bonus points? As you can probably tell I don't hunt out of state much.

When you apply, and don't draw a tag,you get a bonus,or preference point.(Actually pref points are better-they pick folks with most first-a bonus point basically gets your name in the hat an extra time for each point) Eventually you WILL get a tag. Since GA keeps upping the number of gators they want to take, the odds just keep getting better.I think apps come out early summer-you can do it all online.
A soon as I draw,I'm THERE!

That is awesome. I guess I'll apply for FL and GA. I can't see paying an outfitter either. A DIY hunt sounds like more fun.
