Call (Allen Johston, 410-228-5018) the hunt coordinater and ask for the current regs/map so you can start some planning. If you write or leave a message they'll just put you on the mailing list for next season and you won't get it until mid-July.
The Blackwater regs may be changing a lot for next year from what I've heard, will be interesting to see what's new.

One sika stag, 2 whitetail bucks (as long as you get 2 doe before the second whitetail buck). Whitetail & sika bag limits are completely separate.

And with sika ANY visible antler above the hairline is considered a stag, not the 3" rule like whitetails. Would suck to shoot a nubbin at first light thinking it's a doe and be done!!

Hello
Can you see whitetails and sikas in the same zone? Is it normal? I see in the blackwater maps that there are less swamp in the unit U, Is it ok?
I´m interested in Blackwater too ;D.

Yeah, anything with upland areas will have a mix of whitetails and sika. Areas U, N, D will be a mix, also some of B2, B1 and R.

if the bag limits are separate. are there two differant tags also? i think i will tool back over to your dnr page tonight.
I see from your buck of the month fourm. you boast some fine whitetail out your way. not to shabby. but i wouldnt travel half way across the country to shoot something. i can get in the back yard. it is your free range sika that have my attention. i will leave the whitetail up to you fine folks. unless i take it with the truck on the way out. there pretty safe around me.

There used to be a map on the site. The website has changed since this fall & I didn't see it. Search Blackwater NWR & the site will be close to the top. Maybe you can find it.
