So....I woke up this morning and heard several shots ringing out on Mattawoman Creek....It supposedly is a game preserve or wildlife preserve or something. I walked down there to see if I could see the people hunting and actually passed several police officers and a DNR officer on a trail somewhat close to where these guys were hunting. Does anyone know anything about this at all, as far as if you can/can't hunt there or anything?

they opened up a couple of blind sites in Mattawoman creek and people jumped on them. there are a few people that go down to the dock to watch the ducks and are all upset that people are hunting. but it is perfectly legal if you are in a blind site and have the paperwork. the people that are complaining are calling the police and DNR everyday and telling them people are hunting where they are not suppse to be just to have the police and DNR come down and have to interupt the hunt. i think they think if they complain enough the people will not hunt there anymore. i think DNR is going to take away those blind sites due to mis guided complaints from this year which is rediculous. we have had a couple run ins with some of these people on the dock and most of them are tree huggers that are just complaining because they have nothing better to do..
Me and the Deer Hunter went out yesterday and found two jack asses in the Deer hunters blind site. of course they came up with some bull crap story of how they had the rights to the site because it was owned by indian head base and they had signed the site out. The deer hunter has the paperwork and the rights to that blind site. and since we could not get DNR on the phone at 5 am we just went to a different blindsite and ended up getting 4 mallards and a mystery duck. I would just like to voice my opinion here. if you every come across this where someone is in you blind site the best thing to do is call the 24 hour DNR police line 410-260-8888 and they will dispatch someone there to handle it. it is flipping ridiculos to have to deal with something like that but it happens. If you have the gaul to hunt someone elses blind site or tree stand or whatever, you are a joke and give every other hunter a bad name. it is A**HOLES like that that cause these fights and people getting shot in the woods like you read about in the papers and watch on the news. I was so mad i could have choked those two old pricks but i think we did the right thing by leaving and reporting it. next time i will just call the police and call the day a loss. I hope anyone that would do something like that will choke on whatever they "Harvest" in that spot.

The moral of the long story BIG FOX wrote is:
If there is someone in your duck blind location, all you can do is call DNR and wait.
(410) 260-8888
