I bought an I40 from Mali this summer and put it on a Camera Stick on the back 40. I got some good pictures day and night only one buck a young 9 point with a kicker but I do like the camera. Any one else using one yet?

I've been using one and it's a workhorse. The long battery life is the best thing about it. Trigger speed is good too. If you got a place that's too far to visit very often, this is definitely the camera to buy.
I had a bear rip it off a tree back in the summer. The bear broke the glass and it snapped a picture when I found the camera on the ground. I replaced the glass and everything is still working great.

I bought a moultrie from wal mart this summer. Battery life (D batteries) sucks and it stopped working five days ago. I'm going to return it tomorrow.

Mali warned me not to buy one of the Wal-Mart specials. Wal-Mart has their own version to sell at cheap prices. At least they did last year.
Maybe he will get on here and explain.

After having some issues with mine and Moultrie sending me a replacment camera, I went and swaped out the SD cards today. I have read alot of good things about the I40 and can now speak highly of the camera from first hand experience. I am considering getting another one. i140.photobucket.com/albums/r34/sidewayshunt/2cam.jpg

Sorry I have not been on here much but I will stick around from here on out.
The I-40 is a great camera and as most of you know, there was an issue with whiteouts. But, Moultrie has released the free upgrade software and it is flawless! I have sold about 800 of the I-40's and in my guestimation there were about 150 that had the issue. All the other cameras were fine. I personally had 4 of the I-40's with the whiteout issue. Ever since I downloaded the new software the cameras are perfect! And, the 150 of the guys that had the issue are saying the same thing. There were also a few(probably 5) who had their units lock up when programing. Those had to be sent back for either repair or replacement. I still do not know what causes the lockup but it very rare. None the less, Moultrie backs them.
The Walmart version of Moultries are strange. These units are made just for Walmart and my GUESS is that due to $$ and restraints, certain guidelines are not followed in the manufacturing process. I could be wrong about this but all points lead to quality control. I have a friend of mine that worked for Remington Arms and he said that Walmart beat them up on the price so much that when they made the batches of ammo for WM, they would use cheap shot, wads and powder.....and even then, they did not make hardly anything on the shells. So, I am really not sure but some can use their imagination on that one.
I JUST replaced the batteries on my I-40's from the end of June!! Thousands of images and they lasted dang near 6 months. I am not sure one can ask for more than that. Like any other products on the market(even if they are the best), things happen and warantees have to be honored. However, for the money and result, I dont think you can beat the I-40 dollar for dollar, quality for quality.
If anyone has any questions or concerns about the Moultrie Trail Camera line, please post or drop me a PM.
