Well, it was ANOTHER great week for fishing down this way. The mackerel are still running and they seem to be getting bigger. Tim Campbell on Friday evening got a citation sized mackerel at 25 and three quarter inches right out in front of Point Lookout. Kevin Earl from Charles County got a 24 inch red drum while fishing with friends at the bow of the target ship. They also got blues, stripers and flounder there. The bluefish were everywhere and some up to ten pounds. The croaker were still hitting but mostly at night. All that in three foot seas no less. Some of the smaller boats opted for the mouth of the creek (St. Jerome's) and got big mackerel and blues right there. If you haven't been down to fish, you should while it's red hot! Not that I know of. They are doing ok off the pier down there. I'd offer you my dock but we are at the head of the creek so there is no guarantee you'd get anything. Every once in awhile the bigger fish will come down here but with no consistancy. If you only have a small boat or skiff you could go right in the mouth of the creek where it meets the Bay which is minutes from here and catch nice fish without having to go into the Bay. There is a sand beach there and lots of people beach their skiffs and stand there and get big fish. You have to know SOMEBODY with a boat, odn't you? All these duck hunters on this site have them, don't they? That size would work for the mouth. Lots of people go out of here in little skiffs. One guy the other day used a kayak and he came back loaded with big blues he got right out front. Christy
