Two nights ago my husband got a 47 inch red drum and a 36 inch drum there and some 6-7lb blues. Last night George Hashman and Archie Ruiz went to the same spot and got 4 drum ranging from 30 inches to the biggest that wasn't measured, but the picture looks to be about 50 inches. He also got (11) 28 inch blues and 48 croaker up to 17 inches. Light tackle, alewife for bait, full moon, what fun!

Those sure are some BIG drum. I caught some earlier this month for the first time & it was a blast. Mine ranged from 20 to 26 inches - can't imagine one over 40!

This is Michael my husband with his 47 inch drum from two nights ago. No, you cannot get these kind of fish from shore. These were caught out by the Target Ship in the S.W. middlegrounds which is about a half hour from here (maybe less) by boat.

Are the fish mostly biting at night?

It is a full moon now as I am sure you know. My husband and the other guy George really only go out at night during the full moons so I can't say for sure. I would guess though that night is better because if I do see a big drum pictures come in here, it is normally at night. There is a slot on drum so you can only keep the 18 to 27 inch ones. They don't taste good anyway, only fun to catch.

The guy that is fourth over with the blue shorts, is his name Jesse? I think he fishes out of here all the time with Danny Arnold if it is the same guy. Great fish and great picture! You should make everybody take off their sunglasses next time though so we can see them better. Tell Jesse if that's him he needs to get back down here. The fish are running really well. He's probably waiting for the fall rockfish though. Christy/Buzz's Marina

Sure is. I'll let him know. He had a great time catching those that day - that was his frist time with the drum as well as mine.

Hey if you talk to him, tell him to let his crew know we are holding a tournament here on October 13th and 14th. He knows these waters, he might do well. Christy
